Synonymous with Sherlock Holmes, the literary hero of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's detective series, the deerstalker was originally designed — as the name suggests — for those who stalked deer on the moors. This one is crafted from 60% wool tweed and finished with ear flaps and a smart grosgrain ribbon.

The outer shell is 60% wool, 25% polyester, 11% acrylic and 4% other fibres, making this a cap of top quality fabric.

Its defining features are a pair of semicircular visors worn front and rear, and a pair of stiffened cloth earflaps attached to either side, tied together by grosgrain ribbons. The dual bills provide protection from the sun for the face and neck during extended periods outdoors, such as hunting or fishing. The earflaps tie under the chin for protection in cold weather and high winds, and otherwise tie together above the crown to keep them out of the way.

Produced to the highest standards by a manufacturer of top quality countrywear and derby clothing. The tweed has been treated with Teflon, which acts as a fabric protector for long-lasting protection against oil- and water-based stains, dust and dry soil.
